DAY 6: BACK TO THE MAINLAND

We set the alarm early enough that we were able to get breakfast and play around on the beach for awhile before heading to the airport. After the swim we got dressed up and headed back into Honolulu to catch our flight to the mainland.

Time for one more trip to the beach. In Hawaii just hang loose! Final view of Diamond Head. In front of hotel fountain. State flag of Hawaii.

Ala Wai Canal in Waikiki. Time for one more trip to the beach. Time for one more can of guava nectar. Lisa enjoys guava nectar.

Aloha and Mahalo, Hawaii!

And there you have it! We returned to Eugene via San Francisco at about 11:35pm. The temperature? Well, we weren't in Honolulu anymore...how about 55°!

As this website is completed, nearly 2 weeks after our return, what this trip meant to us has been difficult to put into words. Perhaps the best way to describe it is as an amazing journey. It was fun, exotic, relaxing and absolutely beautiful. When Hawaii sinks her teeth in you, she pulls you in. We will be returning to the islands next fall as this has truly become our place.

We hope you have enjoyed the photos and some of the history of Hawaii. Putting this site together has been a lot of fun and a way to relive the memories. Mahalo and Malama Pono!
